Employment Options
CIEE Road Show and CIEE Recruit
CIEE sponsors hiring events called Road Shows during which US employers travel directly to a country to hire students. Road Shows only occur in specific countries at specific times, so be sure to pay attention if a CIEE representative offers you this option. Even if the employer does not travel to your country, you can still get a job with a company through CIEE Recruit. In this case, the company gives CIEE staff permission to hire students in their absence.
CIEE Direct
CIEE Direct is a service that will allow you to find a Work and Travel 2005 job placement online.
How does it work?
You complete your online resume and tell us your preferences about where you want to go, and what kind of job you want. Then CIEE staff will send your resume to an employer who has job vacancies that best meet your requirements. The employer will then be able to contact you or offer you a job. You have the final decision over which job you wish to take.
What kind of jobs will be available?
CIEE is working closely with employers in popular summer resort areas that have hosted Work and Travel students for years. They offer good jobs with competitive salaries and some employers even offer housing. Once registered for CIEE Direct, you will have access to online resources that can explain more about the different types of locations the jobs are available in, as well as a summary of the types of jobs that are available.
To learn if you are eligible for CIEE Direct, please contact your local CIEE office or partner agent.
Independent Option
The independent option gives you the most flexibility and freedom in landing a job in the place you want to be. You can still use this site to access all of the resources necessary to secure your ideal seasonal job. We give you information on how to write your resume (CV) and cover letter and tips on approaching employers on your own. Please note that any job that you find independently will need to be approved by CIEE.
