LEGAL ISSUES

As a Work & Travel USA participant, even though you are a visitor, the law applies to you. Ignorance of a law is no excuse for breaking it! The U.S. police can be very strict, so stay out of trouble! If you do get into trouble, CIEE will try to advise and help you. However, you are obliged to take responsibility for any crimes or violations which you commit. CIEE can verify that you are on our program, and can advise you on a course of action, but in some cases, there are limits to the help we can offer.
